For almost a year now, we have had the pieces to a batting cage lying in the yard. Our friend Chris graciously let us take his batting cage that his children used growing up. It's on loan to us until he might have grandchildren that play, at which time it will be returned.
Our friend Michael helped Corey put the poles up and re-attach them (you see the poles were cut because they were originally sodered when the cage was first put together). Then Corey and I rented an auger to dig the holes to set the pipe sleeves that the posts would slide into. We set them in concrete.
After they set over night, Pappaw came over and helped Corey move the posts into the sleeves. Then Corey and I hung the net.
We accomplished this project in one weekend. Corey and I are actually very proud of our work.
Now balls that are hit in our yard will not go in the lake (our entire yard slopes downward to the lake).
Will this project pay off? Maybe it will help towards a baseball college scholarship:)
